A Life Saving Hysterectomy

A 31-year-old woman suffers from a huge uterine fibroid weighing about 6 kilograms which caused her abdomen to swell and she had difficulty breathing and moving, in addition to poor bowel movements.

Other symptoms of Uterine Fibroids include:

1- Heavy, long or painful menstrual cycles.

2- Abdominal and pelvic pain.

3- Low back pain.

4- Frequent need to urinate and difficulty emptying the bladder.

5- Constipation.

6- Feeling pain or discomfort during intercourse.

7- Bleeding between menstrual periods.

After examination and diagnosis, a hysterectomy was decided, under the supervision of Dr. Anas Jamal, Consultant and Head of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at the Saudi German Hospital, Makkah Branch.

This critical surgery was successfully completed in just 3 hours without any complications and the patient was transferred to her room in the inpatient department and is on the way to recovery.
